Slan is the ruler of a strange "other water world" that exists below Earth's oceans. There, he commands armies of intelligent plant beings.
Once, he lured Mera into his water world and tried to use a conversion ray to make her into a half-plant being. Luckily, Aquaman was able to rescue her.
