Aquaman appears in the comic book based on the Imaginext Super Friends cartoon (where Aquaman is among the main characters). The writers always found a way to keep Aquaman as someone useful in the comic book, they use one of two ideas:
- Useful in the obvious way: In one storyline Batman was chasing the villain Ant through the zoo, Aquaman caught him by surprise when he approached the fish tank. When AMAZO appeared in the Aquaman comics, he discovered that the robot doesn't copy his powers because it's not waterproof. In a plot Qwsp (who is a fan of aquaman in this version) got angry when a guy mocked Aquaman being someone useful since he only talks to fish, and under the influence of mister Mxy, Qwsp made flying fish attack the guy for Aquaman to save him.
- Useful in other ways: Aquaman was once useful using his intelligence. In a plot: Flash, Green Lantern and Aquaman had to travel through a maze. Flash and Green Lantern used their powers to walk through walls, but Aquaman simply marked the walls he went through so he wouldn't go through the same place twice. In another story, the Queen of Fables brought the heroes into their world of children's stories, and decided to arrest them by sending each one to a different environment. Aquaman tried to travel through the water, but a shark tried to attack him, and the talking shark refused to obey. So Aquaman just got out of the water and tried to make the trip over land, because it doesn't matter if it's a children's story or not, a shark has to stay in the water.
